105th Anniversary FLHRC Road King® Classic Copper/Black 1:12 Scale Bruce Rossmeyer Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary FLHRC Road King Classic In 1901, 21 year-old William S. Harley drew up a blueprint of a single-cylinder engine designed to fit into a bicycle frame. For the next two years Harley and boyhood friend Arthur Davidson labored in a crude 10 x 15-foot wooden shed in the Davidson backyard, with the words HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR COMPANY scrawled on the door. In 1903 the first production Harley-Davidson motorcycles debuted, and in a few short years that backyard shed would be left behind, as the Harley-Davidson Motor Company would grow beyond the founders' dreams.
Today, that humble backyard shed is long gone, but the dream remains. Built as a racer, evolving into a workingman's mode of transport, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle has become an American icon, 105 years strong. In 2008, Harley-Davidson will celebrate their 105th anniversary; this high-quality die-cast metal collectible is a 1:12 scale replica of limited-edition motorcycles Harley-Davidson will produce in honor of this milestone. Often imitated, never quite duplicated, always admired, ever timeless: Harley-Davidson. LIMITED EDITION: Special item available for a limited time only. |
